Live Stations of the Cross – Good Friday

Every Good Friday, Ajijic becomes the stage for a deeply moving Live Stations of the Cross, organized completely by the local community. Residents act out the Passion of Christ, starting from the Church of San Andrés and walking through the streets up into the surrounding hills. Fourteen stations are reenacted with simple but meaningful costumes, and each scene is accompanied by hymns, moments of silence, tears, and heartfelt prayers. It is not a distant spectacle but an immersive procession in which people walk alongside the actors, pray, and are genuinely moved by the experience. The final climb to the hilltop and the crucifixion scene are especially powerful, both physically and spiritually.
